Mrs. Mary Lynn Cuevas

     The purpose for identifying students for the Gifted and Talented Department is to determine which students require alterations in their educational program to suit their unique, advanced learning needs.  Students who qualify for these services exhibit high level thinking, creativity, and advanced problem solving skills.

Participation in GT classes may include:

• 4 hours a week of interdisciplinary thematic units

• Accelerated Math in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades

• Independent research opportunities allow students to investigate specific topics of interest and to develop sophisticated products

• Participation in the Chess Club 

• Opportunities for enrichment of GT units.
